Fitchburg, Mass., December 2003 — The Gardner (Mass.) Visiting Nurses Association held a holiday luncheon and unannounced winter footwear distribution Monday afternoon at its Fitchburg Community Services Center on Main Street. Regular clients who came for the meal discovered they could sign up to receive new leather boots or shoes. Staff members fitted each person individually.
